Career : Long experience in international business transactions and international arbitration. Has participated in more than 100 international arbitrations, serving as Counsel to Parties, Chairman of Tribunals, party-nominated or sole arbitrator, or expert witness. Former US Member on ICC's International Court of Arbitration. Acted as Counsel in obtaining first contested award before Iran-US Claims Tribunal, and as counsel to prevailing party in landmark Dutco case. On panels of arbitrators maintained by leading institutions, including CPR's Panel of Distinguished International Mediators, and frequent speaker at arbitration conferences. Has acted in cases covering wide range of industries (eg, pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive, petroleum, insurance, high technology) and commercial transactions (eg, joint ventures, acquisitions, turn-key projects, licenses, government concessions). Personal : Graduated from Amherst College and Yale Law School, where was managing editor of Yale Law Journal. Fluent in English, German and French.
