Founded in 1996, Weinhold Legal today has almost 50 lawyers in its Prague and Bratislava offices. The majority of attorneys are Czech and Slovak qualified. The firm also has UK and German qualified lawyers. INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE:The firm has advised on many of the most significant transactions in the region. Just a few examples include: advising on the US$ 1 billion+ privatisation of the Slovak Electricity Company, the largest transaction ever to take place in Slovakia; advising Ashok Leyland, India's second largest Indian truck producer, in respect of the acquisition of the entire truck production business of a major Czech truck producer; advising the Czech Government/Ministry of Defence on a multibillion agreement; complex legal services to the vendor on the sale to Heineken of Drinks Union, one of the largest Czech brewery groups including four breweries located in North and East Bohemia; representation of the Czech state and the Slovak state in four bilateral investment treaty arbitrations. The firm has also assisted a large number of foreign (primarily US, UK, Germany and Japan) investors in establishing their business presence in the Czech Republic (and subsequent corporate changes).
