Practice Areas: James is a leading charity and social enterprise law specialist with significant experience acting for charities from local groups to national and international organisations. He also specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and general company law matters. He is an active member of the Charity Law Association and a regular speaker on charity and social enterprise issues. He is also the sole legal representative on the panel established by Social Enterprise Mark CIC to adjudicate on awards of the Social Enterprise Mark. Recent work includes advising on several charity mergers, academy school conversions and advising on the establishment of new social enterprises to undertake services previously carried out within the public sector.
