    Principal Areas of Work
    Commercial & Regulatory: Advises on all the commercial issues businesses might encounter in their dealings with regulatory and prosecuting authorities. The firm has particular expertise in the insurance sector and regularly acts for one fifth of the agents in the Lloyd's Market.
    Construction, Engineering & Projects: Advises from inception to completion on all types of domestic and international projects, including procurement, risk management, OJEU procedures, development finance, collateral warranties and other securities, live project advice, adjudication, arbitration and litigation.
    Corporate/M&A: Handles the full range of transactional and advisory work for UK and multinational clients, including private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, refinancing, restructurings and joint ventures. Corporate finance work covers IPOs on the Official List and AIM, secondary offerings and related matters.
    Education: Acts for schools, colleges and institutions, as well as teaching unions, on a wide range of matters including disciplinary issues, GTC proceedings, exclusions, school status and litigation. The firm also conducts advocacy in-house.
    Employment: Provides TUPE advice in relation to mergers and acquisitions and outsourcings, discrimination claims, dismissals, redundancies, compliance matters, policies and procedures, training programmes and High Court litigation concerning infringement of restrictive covenants and team moves.
    Insurance & Reinsurance: Handles most classes of insurance and reinsurance work, with specialist groups focusing on claims involving accountants, brokers, directors and officers, financial institutions, reinsurance, construction and engineering, environmental, health and safety, lawyers' liability, property, subrogated recoveries, EL/PL, medical negligence and product liability. As well as defending claims, the firm advises on policy wording, corporate and regulatory matters and provides loss adjusting services.
    Intellectual Property & Technology: Advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious IP and technology, including specialist dispute resolution. Specialisms include trademarks, patents, confidential information, design rights and copyright, e-commerce, data protection and competition.
    International Trade & Arbitration: Handles complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution matters. Clients include commodities suppliers, charterers, insurers and energy companies. The firm also advises on non-contentious aspects of trading, financing and transport of commodities.
    Media: Acts in relation to claims in defamation, privacy, contempt, copyright, data protection, reporting restrictions and freedom of information, predominantly on behalf of media defendants. The firm offers pre-publication advice and advice on jurisdictional challenges in media claims and also advises on promotions, acquisitions, e-publishing, publishing agreements and digitisation agreements.
    Real Estate: Advises on property investment, development and finance, regeneration projects, and landlord and tenant matters for property holding companies and institutional investors, developers or corporate occupiers, including acquisitions and disposals, leases and portfolio management.
