  • Editors

    • Rieta Ghosh
      Read Ancient History at University of Durham. Former Client Information Manager with European market research agency. Previously worked at a leading business advisory company.
    • Senja Malone-Lee
      Central & Eastern Europe Editor. Graduated with a Masters in Modern German Literature from University College London. Completed internship at the Institute for Public Policy Research. Gained extensive research experience in the media, including a number of freelance assignments for The Guardian. Fluent in German and Serbo-Croat.
    • Anna Williams
      Solicitor (1991) Read Human Sciences at St Anne’s College, Oxford. Practised commercial property and social housing at a top West End firm for eight years.
      Editor of Chambers Student Guide.
    • James Cowdell
      Barrister. Read Modern History at The Queen’s College, Oxford. Practised at the Criminal Bar for five years and was a fee-earner in the family department of a leading London law firm.
    • Jessica Culpan
      Global Editor. Studied English and Law at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Has worked as a press officer and private secretary in the New Zealand House of Representatives, and subsequently as a researcher in both the public and private sector.
    • Jordi Puy Campàs
      Western Europe Editor. Graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona and read Intellectual Property Law at Stockholm University. Previously worked in Spain as legal advisor and head of sales and marketing of a performing arts company. Most recently, worked as a financial researcher in the UK.
    • Tracey Sinclair
      UK Editor. Graduated with a joint first in English Literature and Philosophy from Glasgow University. Has worked as a business editor and researcher for non-profit organisations and a national broadcasting company. Has also written for several magazines and business websites. Spent four years working as a subtitler for the BBC and a translation and subtitling company. Published novelist.
    • Rob Wainwright
      Solicitor. Graduated in Law and English at University of Queensland, Australia. Trained at leading niche litigation firm and wrote for a national legal journal. Has also written for Chambers Student Guide.
    • Tom Wicker
      USA Editor. Graduated in English Language and Literature at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Worked in the editorial department of a London-based literary magazine after completing an MPhil in British Studies at Cambridge.
    • Jacob Aitken
      Latin America Editor. Graduated in Hispanic Studies from the University of Birmingham and Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. Worked as an English teacher in a school in Chile. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
    • Daniel Kidd
      Asia Editor. Graduated in History from the University of Warwick. Spent three years studying and working in Japan. Previously worked as a policy advisor to the British government. Fluent in Japanese.

    • Tara Paulsson
      Graduated from the University of York with a First in English Literature. She has worked as a Government Sales Executive for British Airways London Eye, organising VIP sponsored visits for Government departments, and has recently studied at the London School of Publishing.

      Read Law at London School of Economics. Worked in various aspects of legal publishing for many years, as a Legal Executive for a leading law firm in Australia while travelling and, more recently, in legal recruitment.

    • Sarah Brown
      Solicitor. Read Law at Newnham College, Cambridge. Trained and practised at a magic circle law firm. Specialised in corporate finance and insolvency law.
  • Researchers

    • Eleni Chalkidou
      Graduated with a first class Masters in Journalism from Westminster University. Worked as a journalist for BBC News Online, International Financial Law Review, Commercial Lawyer and Corporate Finance magazine. Currently a journalist for AOB magazine. Fluent in Greek, German, Spanish and Krio (spoken in Sierra Leone).
    • Ignacio Abella
      BA in English Language and Literature from Universidad de Oriente in Cuba. Freelance translator/interpreter, worked as project manager for a local branch of the Ministry of Culture, started an MA in Caribbean Studies before relocating to the UK. Extensive experience in market research having worked for an Information and Communication Technology advisory company and for a major data analysis group in London.
    • Russell Bramley
      Graduated in History at the University of East Anglia. Completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law in London.
    • Rav Casley Gera
      Achieved a First in History from the University of Sheffield and studied at Harvard University as a Kennedy Scholar. He has worked as a communications officer for a national disability charity.
    • John Daniel
      John Daniel Graduated with a Masters in Russian from the University of Edinburgh. Previously worked as a teacher in Russia and the UK, as well as a freelance translator/interpreter, musician and chef. Fluent in Russian and French.
    • Emily Jupp
      Graduated in Psychology at Royal Holloway University of London, (specialising in neuroscience and religious psychology). She has also worked for a consumer magazine and in entertainment.
    • Romila Chowdhury
      Read Law at the School of Oriental and African Studies.
    • Katie Cooke
      Read English and French at King’s College, London. Worked in Marseille, France as an English teacher before becoming a journalist. Was previously deputy editor of a leading City reinsurance magazine.
    • Nicholas Richardson
      Read Philosophy at University College London. Post-graduate LLB with first class honours at City University, London. Completed LPC at the Inns of Court School of Law in 2005.
    • Lori Jay Frecker
      Graduated in Law at Nottingham University in 2005.
    • Tim Girven
      Graduated in History and English from Sussex University. Studied for an MA in Latin American Area Studies from University College and a doctorate at Birkebeck College. Extensive journalistic experience on various publications. Previously resident in Madrid and Mexico City. Fluent in Spanish.
    • Paul Evans
      Graduated in Law from Exeter University, and has previously worked for two Members of Parliament and in a Government press office.
    • Sara  Vali
      Graduated in English Literature from the University of Warwick. Completed an MA in 20th century English Literature at the University of Sussex in 2004.
    • Samantha Rose
      Graduated with a degree in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and went on to do an MA in Legal Studies at Bristol University, (a two-year, senior status degree in Law) specialising in European Human Rights.
    • Catherine McGregor
      PhD in Drama and English. Has worked as a university lecturer in England and the US. Has also worked in Theatre and as a freelance writer including work for the Dictionary of Literary Biography.

      Graduated in History from the University of York in 2005.
    • Anna Lindsay-Taylor
      Studied History at Kings' College London.
    • Robert Li
      Graduated in Modern Chinese Studies from Leeds University, later completing the CPE at Westminster University. Previously worked in a domain name management company, helping clients to manage their intellectual property on the Internet. Speaks Mandarin Chinese.
    • Ananda Reeves
      Read Law at New Hall College, Cambridge. Has worked as a researcher for a human rights organisation. Studying Spanish.
    • Abi Andersen
      Read English at the University of Nottingham and graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MA in International Relations, including studies in International Law. Previously worked in the Office of Government Commerce, an independent office of the Treasury.
    • Alastair Mitchell
      Graduated with a first in English Literature at University of Sussex; has worked as PR Executive and Freelance Journalist.
    • Joanna Thomas
      Joanna graduated in English Literature from the University of Durham in 2003. She writes and reviews for several online poetry forums and speaks fluent Spanish.
    • Jenna  Course-Choi
      Graduated in History at the University of Durham. Creative writer and published author. Previously resident in Hong Kong and New Zealand.
    • Montague Kobbe
      Read Spanish and Latin American Literature in the Catholic University of Caracas in his native Venezuela. Achieved a joint honours degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Bristol, and completed a Masters in American Literature and Culture with European Studies at the University of Leeds. Fluent in Spanish, English and German.
    • Louise Poppelwell
      Graduated with a Master of Arts (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Has written for various magazines and newspapers.
    • Karol Zemek
      Studied Philosophy at Clare College, Cambridge. Has worked in television and radio and was a contributor to a current affairs magazine. Fluent in Polish
    • Lee Saunders
      Read French and History at University of Leeds. Worked as an English teacher in Paris, France and subsequently as a research analyst in London for an American media company.
    • Edward Shum
      Studied Law at Magdalene College, Cambridge. Previously worked at a South London law firm.
    • Catherine Kemp
      Graduated in English Literature from the University of East Anglia in 2005. Completed an NCTJ qualification in Journalism at Harlow College. Previously worked as a freelance features writer for contract publishers, Axon Publishing.

      Read Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds and graduated with an MA in Television Journalism in 2006 from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Completed placements with the BBC and ZDF Germany. Bilingual English and German, with working Spanish.
    • Sandra Tate
      Graduated with honours in English and Drama from Leeds University. Worked in a business centre and as an interpreter before going on to study the CPE. Assisted in the making of a documentary in Nepal for the BBC before studying the LPC. Worked in two of the magic circle firms. Fluent in Spanish.
    • Shi-Ning Koay
      Graduated in Law from the University of Manchester. Completed the Bar Vocational Course and was subsequently called to the Bar in 2005. Trained with a leading Malaysian law firm and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2006

      Graduated in International Relations from the University of Sussex in 2005.
    • Christophe Divina
      Graduated in International Business from the University of Metz, France and studied at the Universidad de Jaén, Spain. Has previously worked as a researcher for a real estate publishing company. Fluent in French and Spanish. Learning Japanese.
    • Nuria Vegas Sala
      Graduated in Business Administration at the Alcala de Henares University, Madrid. Studied in the US and Italy. Worked in Germany. Fluent in Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian, English and German.
    • Marion Volondat
      Solicitor admitted to the New York and Paris Bars. Graduated with honours in Law from The University of Paris 1 - Sorbonne and earned a Masters degree in Law from the University of Texas at Austin. Has worked for several international law firms in Paris and New York. Fluent in French.

      Graduated with an honours degree in English literature from the University of Cape Town in 2006.
    • Alice Woudhuysen
      Graduated in English Language and Literature (European) at University of Leeds. Gained NCTJ pre-entry level qualification at Lambeth College, South London. Previously worked as an English language teacher in Bolivia and Spain. Fluent in Spanish.

      Graduated from University College London with first class honours in Russian and Czech. MA in Translation from University of Sheffield. Has translated a number of books for a Russian children’s author. Speaks Russian and Czech.
    • Stefan Baker
      Graduated in 2004 from Jesus College, Cambridge, with BA Hons in Russian & Spanish. Graduated in 2007 from Queen Mary, University of London, with an MA in European Literature, Culture, and Thought. Has lived in Spain and Poland, and is fluent in Polish, Spanish, and Russian. Previous work experience includes Executive Search within TMT and Oil & Gas, focusing on Eastern Europe, Russia, and the CIS.

      Graduated in 2003 with a BA (hons) in Politics from the University of Sussex. Subsequently worked for BUPA and Associated Newspapers.

      Graduated with a MA in Literary Studies from Newcastle University in 2006.

      Graduated with a First in English from the University of Southampton in 2005.
    • Carla Di Bonito
      Carla Di Bonito graduated in Journalism from CISOP- Centro Internazionale per gli Studi dell Oppinione Pubblica. She worked for 9 years in programme-making at the BBC. She is a filmmaker with two short films made and a feature currently in development. She speaks several languages, four of them fluently.

      Graduated in English Literature and Language from King’s College London, and trained with the London School of Publishing. Has previously worked as legal liaison within the public sector. Is a published poet and is currently writing his first novel.
